Problems will build character

The following is a copy of a post at my blog-buddy’s site (Brad Ruggles; he has some great insights, stop by and see), and I just thought it was too good to not submit here:

Does it seem sometimes like you just go from one tough situation to the next? Here’s some food for thought.

“Life is a series of problems. Either you are in one now, you’re just coming out of one, or you’re getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort. He is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making it happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on this earth, but that is not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ’s likeness.” – Rick Warren

My take: While these words seem difficult to consider while in the middle of a trying time, I believe that they are true…and it brings me comfort knowing that God is building me into the man he wants me to be through everything that I have to deal with.

How does this sit with you?

  1. You can’t argue truth. Anyone with any bit of maturity or clarity on life can see that this is the way of life. Our growth to the next level is through these challenges that are set for us. It helps us to know God more..
